Subject: Fire Weather Heads up for today through Thursday

Fire Weather Heads up for today through Thursday as a dry line and dry cold front moves through our area.  Strong Gusty winds will be with us through Thursday. RHs could drop into the Twenty’s in our area later today . Fuels will dry out with the heat and high winds. We will have Elevated Fire weather conditions tomorrow.

Also note the Critical Fire weather in West Texas and the panhandle (on the graphic below). Today will be the second day of elevated fire weather for the area. We could see some large fires to our west.

Today Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, partly sunny, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 81. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Tonight Clear, with a low around 48. West wind 10 to 15 mph becoming north 15 to 20 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.
Wednesday Sunny, with a high near 63. Windy, with a north wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.
Wednesday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 38. North wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Thursday Sunny, with a high near 65. North wind around 5 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon.
Thursday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 42. South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
Friday Mostly cloudy, with a high near 71. South wind 5 to 15 mph.

25 PERCENT ACROSS THE WESTERN EDWARDS PLATEAU AND RIO GRANDE PLAINS.
BEHIND THE DRYLINE A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH BRINGING STRONG...
GUSTY WINDS. WINDS WILL REACH CRITICAL LEVELS LATE TONIGHT AND CONTINUE
THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. THE COOLER AIR WILL HAVE HIGHER RELATIVE
HUMIDITY...SO CRITICAL CONDITIONS ARE NOT EXPECTED. TEMPERATURES WILL
