[Dispatch] SPOK Maintenance

What's happening November 7th, 2021, 2300-2330 Hours Messaging System Maintenance.
Spok will perform Local Backup Systems Test Quarterly Maintenance on their local Network Switch.

How does this affect users?

*         SPOK Messaging will be unabailable.

*       A brief disruption of CAD/EOC/Castlerock Direct Connect messaging at CTECC during this maintenance window.

*         Direct Dial to users on their 512-802-XXXX, 512-935-XXXX and Users attempting to retrieve Voice Mail on same 512-802/935 numbers will be affected.

*         Alpha Modem Dial up for text messaging to the Paging component (512-802-PAGE, 512- 935-PAGE) will be affected.

*         The total expected downtime is 1 to 3 minutes for Direct Connects circuit to transition to backup.

*         DOES NOT affect Web interface platforms and SMTP/SNPP/WCTP access to Smart Suite.

Why are we doing this?

*         Our Messaging vendor Spok, will test the Backup system for their network switch to verify operation, affecting local dial up and CTECC Direct Connect services at CTECC (CAD/EOC/Castlerock). This will ensure its availability for operation during an outage on the primary circuit.  Spok will also add a TAP port inactivity patch to their Smart Suite for Direct connects to their Server.  No expected outage for this patch implementation.

What's required of me?

*         Notify affected recipient users, of a possible disruption in paging/messaging.

*         Notify CTM-WCSD if Smart Suite messaging has not returned to normal after the scheduled maintenance window.
