Subject: Slaughter Creek Overpass

The Slaughter Creek Overpass has been shut down to all traffic due to an 18 wheel truck impacting the bridge support. TXDOT is evaluating the integrity of the bridge. Chief Ash advised no fire trucks should attempt to cross this bridge. The bridge may be re-opened later to private vehicle traffic only.

We have shut down the overpass in CAD completely (0 mph) and the MDC should not route you across this bridge. It may change the units CAD picks for calls in the area.

If you get updated information please pass it along to Fire Communications and/or Dispatch so that we can make the appropriate changes in CAD.
