[Dispatch] New Spec Ops Tone GO LIVE!

[Fire Communications Calendar]

The new Spec Ops Tone will be enacted October 1.  September 30






Special Operations (Spec Ops) and Communications identified this tone to separate Spec Ops incidents from BOX and Vehicle Rescue alarms. It will be used to alert stations/units to the following alarm types:

 HAZMAT – HazMat Alarm

 HMTF – Hazmat Taskforce

 LTTF - Lake Travis Task Force

 PS – Boat/Stranded Boat

 RESQT – Rescue Task Force

 WRESQA – Water Rescue Alarm

 WRESQT – Water Rescue Taskforce



The new tone begins on September 30, 2021. It applies to Austin, Travis County, and the area Emergency Service District Fire Departments. This does not affect response plans or modify alarm types.
If you have questions please address them through your chain of command.
