NOTICE OF SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE: GREATER AUSTIN-TRAVIS COUNTY REGIONAL RADIO SYSTEM


  1.  WHAT'S HAPPENING TUESDAY, NOV 14TH, FROM 12:01 A.M. TO 04:00 A.M.: Zone 1 (Austin-Travis) Microwave Repair at Barton Creek Subsite.


  1.  IMPACT to Austin and Travis County GATRRS customers: Barton Creek Subsite (Southwest Travis County), and Bell Springs Site Disabled (Northwest Hays County).
     *   In preparation for this planned activity, we will be disabling (turning off) the Bell Springs Site so as to prevent a 'site trunking' event that can cause field subscriber radios to become isolated from being able to communicate with their associated parties.
                                                               i.      Impact - Reduced coverage within the Northwest Hays County area.

     *   If an unforeseen impact to the Barton Creek Subsite were to happen,
                                                               i.      Impact - Reduced coverage within the Southwest Travis County area.


  1.  IMPACT SYSTEMWIDE:
No System wide impacts are anticipated.


  1.  WHO IS AFFECTED?
     *   Subscribers located in Southwest Travis County, and Northwest Hays County (Hamilton Pool).  Should unforeseen problems occur, this could impact all GATRRS customers, systems and sites.


  1.  WHAT IS REQUIRED OF YOU?
     *   GATRRS customers
                                                               i.      In the field in Northwest Hays County, subscribers will encounter reduced radio system coverage for handheld radios.   Be prepared to use vehicle mobile radios.
                                                             ii.      In the field in Southwest Travis County, subscribers may encounter reduced radio system coverage for handheld radios.   Be prepared to use vehicle mobile radios.

                                                            iii.      Dispatch Centers should be prepared to use local backup radio resources prior to the start of this maintenance activity.
