NOTICE OF EMERGENCY SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE: GREATER AUSTIN-TRAVIS COUNTY REGIONAL RADIO SYSTEM, AUSTIN-TRAVIS COUNTY ONLY
1. WHAT'S HAPPENING TONIGHT - WEDNESDAY, JUNE 28TH, FROM 12:01 A.M. TO 4:00 A.M.: Related to today's unplanned outage on the E-620 simulcast layer, Motorola and CTM-Wireless techs will verify functionality of a power inverter at the E-620 "prime site" at Decker Lane tower before placing the inverter back in line. Completion of this work will return the Decker prime site to full normal operation.
1. IMPACT to Austin and Travis County GATRRS customers: None expected. Site functionality should be uninterrupted throughout the maintenance window. This notice is provided for awareness only, in case of unforeseen problems.
* Should something unforeseen occur, the E-620 simulcast site may go into "SITE TRUNKING" until service is complete. This would affect radio system coverage for some Austin-Travis public service customers but should go unnoticed by all others including public safety.
i. A "SITE TRUNKING" condition on the Austin-Travis layer may also impact GATRRS radios in the surrounding region including Caldwell and Hays County as well as GATRRS agency aircraft (STAR Flight, APD, etc.).
1. IMPACT SYSTEMWIDE: None expected. See Item 2 above.
1. WHO IS AFFECTED?
* This maintenance should be transparent to all GATRRS customers. Should unforeseen problems occur, impact should be limited to Austin-Travis County GATRRS customers, including STAR Flight and APD air units.
1. WHAT IS REQUIRED OF YOU?
* In case of unexpected problems, GATRRS customers in the field should be prepared to experience reduced coverage in south Travis County in the event the Creedmoor tower becomes unavailable.
1. PRIOR TO THE START OF THIS MAINTENANCE :
* City of Austin Wireless Communication Services personnel assigned to oversee the work will determine if there is a major reason to postpone or suspend the scheduled maintenance. Affected dispatch centers (if available) will be contacted prior to the start of this maintenance to check if there is concern or reason to suspend or postpone the activity.
* EXAMPLES of justification for calling off scheduled maintenance: Major inclement weather moving into the affected area, a multi-alarm fire in progress, or a major law enforcement related event in progress. The system and/or site service level as applied to affected coverage areas will be factored into determination for suspending or postponing the maintenance activity.
